SERPENTINE PATH: Neues Album erscheint Ende Mai auf Relapse Records! | New album out on Relapse Records late May!

Following a two-year release stretch since their bold self-titled debut LP was issued, Relapse Records this week unveils the release details on the highly-anticipated second LP from New York City-based morbid sludge metal executioners SERPENTINE PATH.

Emanations will see parole via Relapse on May 27th (North America), May 26th  (UK / Europe
/ World), and May 23 (Germany / Benelux / Finland) on CD, LP and digital formats. A new trailer featuring a sample of the audio, as well as the cover art by in-house Relapse artist Orion Landau and more has been released. View the album trailer here (YouTube) or here (Dailymotion), and preorders for the album can be placed here.

Emanations Track Listing:

1. House Of Worship
2. Treacherous Waters
3. Claws
4. Disfigured Colossus
5. Systematic Extinction
6. Torment
7. Essence of Heresy

Born from within the smoldering remains of Unearthly Trance in 2011, UT members, bassist Jay Newman, drummer Darren Verni and vocalist Ryan Lipynsky (The Howling Wind) recruited guitarist Tim Bagshaw (ex-Ramesses, ex-Electric Wizard) to complete the SERPENTINE PATH lineup. Their crushing, self-titled debut full-length was referred to as “thudding death-doom that will have genre enthusiasts rolling their stoned skulls in graveyard genuflection” by Revolver, and “a contender for doom album of the year” by Decibel.

Now officially augmented by new second guitarist Stephen Flam, the mastermind behind NYC doom/death legends Winter, SERPENTINE PATH brings forth their most demoralizing and anguish-filled slow-motion chaos yet, with the newly-completed Emanations. As with their first album, Emanations was recorded by the band’s Jay Newman, after which it was honed to devastating perfection at Audiosiege, the album capturing forty-five minutes of true sludge punishment with seven brand new songs from this true underground all-star team. Sure, the pedigree is undeniable, but regardless of their “members of” status, SERPENTINE PATH is one of the most scathing sludge acts on the planet.

SERPENTINE PATH:

Tim Bagshaw – guitars
Stephen Flam – guitars
Jay Newman – bass
Darren Verni – drums
Ryan Lipynsky – vocals

VESTAL CLARET: "The Cult of Vestal Claret" ist draußen! | "The Cult of Vestal Claret" is out now!

Vestal Claret
"The Cult of Vestal Claret"

Label: Cruz del Sur Music

Release: 6th May 2014

U.S. Occult Heavy Metallers VESTAL CLARET will release The Cult of Vestal Claret through Cruz del Sur Music on May 6 in North America. The album will be available on CD and vinyl LP formats; each with different track listings.

The Cult of Vestal Claret introduces to the masses a name that thus far has been quite popular only amongst the die-hard fans of the doom metal scene. In fact, Swanson is well renowned for his work with HOUR OF 13 and SEAMOUNT. VESTAL CLARET’s pronounced BLACK SABBATH-inspiration together with Swanson's signature doomy style perfectly blends with the band's Traditional Heavy Metal’ influences, not to mention an accomplished drumming style, cutting guitars and catchy compositions. The morbid-themed lyrics walk hand in hand with the mesmerizing music: VESTAL CLARET celebrates the dark side of the human psyche, with abundant references to Occultism, Satanism and other disturbing imagery.

The compact disc edition includes newly recorded versions of four previously released tracks from the split with Ungod, and the long suite “Black Priest” (a different, re-recorded version from the one present on the split with Indian band ALBATROSS). The CD also contains two unreleased songs, a cover version of BLACK SABBATH’s “Who Are You?", and an exclusive CD-only track titled "Great Goat God.” The vinyl LP includes two songs from the Ungod split, the two unreleased tracks, and an exclusive vinyl-only track titled “So Mote it Be.”

Track List:

Three and Three Are Six
The Cult of the Vestal
Great Goat God
The Demon and the Deceiver
Piece of Meat
Black Priest
Who Are You
The Stranger

Vinyl LP

Never Say No Again

BIO

VESTAL CLARETmight sound like a new name amongst American occult heavy metal music, but their origins can be traced back to 2005. When vocalist Phil Swanson met recording studio owner and multi-instrumentalist Simon Tuozzoli, he introduced Tuozzoli to his own “Occult Heavy Metal / Death Rock” project. Tuozzoli was quickly hooked, and VESTAL CLARET got started. After the release of the Two Stonesdemo, (that appeared on a split EP with Teutonic epic metal messiahs and label-mates ATLANTEAN KODEX), VESTAL CLARETcomposed and demoed out a full length recording. The recording was put aside and the group disbanded. They reformed in 2009 and soon followed with their 7" vinyl release Virgin Blood. VESTAL CLARET then released their first full length recording Bloodbath in 2011 on vinyl with guest performances from musicians all over the globe. The band's version of Bloodbath, without guest performances, was later released in 2013 on compact disc.

VESTAL CLARET is:
Philip Swanson - Vocals
Simon Tuozzoli - Bass, Guitar, Organ, Additional Voice
(Drums by Michael Petrucci)
