NOMAD SON: 3rd album, "The Darkening", & "First Light/Pilgrimages of Doom" CD/DVD to be released on August 30th

On August 30th Metal on Metal Records will release the 3rd studio album of NOMAD SON, traditional doom metal band from Malta, formed in 2006 by the veteran of the scene, Albert Bell of FORSAKEN. "The Darkening" brings high-octane doom metal combined with '70s hard rock and classic heavy metal. The label states: "Those who associate doom only with slow tempos may be in for a surprise a few times listening to this album. But those who are familiar with the band know what they can expect: recognizable style with versatility of moods and tempos, unique vocals and ominous soundscapes created by Hammonds."

Three songs off the album, "The Devil's Banquet", "The Darkening" and "Descent to Hell", are available for streaming from Metal on Metal Records website. And a promo clip featuring a fragment of another song, "Orphaned Crown", can be watched on YouTube.

Here's the track list of "The Darkening":
1. Light Bearer
2. Age of Contempt
3. The Devil's Banquet
4. Only the Scars
5. Descent to Hell
6. The Darkening
7. Caligula
8. The Orphaned Crown
9. Epilogue

The album art was painted by Jowita Kaminska-Peruzzi (who's also the author of the previous covers of Nomad Son, Attacker, Exodus, Witchburner, Forsaken, Meliah Rage, Manilla Road, Deceased, Arkham Witch and others).

NOMAD SON "The Darkening" CD is available for pre-ordering with a discount from Metal on Metal Records' website, while the digital download (in lossless formats) from the Bandcamp page.

Together with NOMAD SON's third album "The Darkening" (as well as STONEGRIFF "Prologus Magicus" CD), on August 30th, Metal on Metal Records will re-release the band's sold-out debut from 2008, "First Light". It will be out on DVDplus format together with "Pilgrimages of Doom" DVD, and with completely new layout. The DVD contains over 2 hours of pro-filmed and edited exclusive footage from the band's gigs at Hammer of Doom, Doomsday, Headbangers Open Air warm-up and Doom Shall Rise festivals, interview, a song from Maltese TV program and slideshow.

A trailer for the "Pilgrimages of Doom" DVD can be watched on YouTube.

NOMAD SON "First Light / Pilgrimages of Doom" CD/DVD, can be pre-ordered with discount directly from Metal on Metal Records.

STONEGRIFF: New promoclip of "Prologus Magicus" album, which will be coming on August 30th

The debut album of the Swedish doomsters STONEGRIFF "Prologus Magicus" will be released on August 30th. With a vintage sound, which is both heavy and dark, organic and vivid, their debut brings crushing riffs to die for, and vocals with a wide rage and so much charisma that is really hard to come by nowadays. Their music is relatively simple and therefore effective - this band gets straight to the point. As mentioned in the post in which we announced signing STONEGRIFF, they could be best compared to KRUX, while it's rather obvious that their main influence are the forefathers of the genre, BLACK SABBATH... and we are confident that fans of TROUBLE, PENTAGRAM, CANDLEMASS, NOMAD SON, SPIRITUS MORTIS and LAS CRUCES will dig them too. STONEGRIFF follow in the Doom Metal forefathers' footsteps, keeping things old school, straightforward and HEAVY.

The clip features scenes from "The City of the Dead" ("Horror Hotel") movie from 1960.

Three songs off the album, "Black Magic Circle", "Mercenary Bay" and "Impossible", are available for streaming from our Bandcamp player on the STONEGRIFF page and on "Prologus Magicus" release page on our website. Apart from that, you can listen to the latter two on our YouTube channel (here and here). The complete track listing of "Prologus Magicus" is as follows:

1. Black Magic Circle
2. Secrets of Your Soul
3. Mercenary Bay
4. For Madmen Only
5. Impossible
6. Black Snow
7. Devil's Daughter
8. In the World that You Rule

ARKHAM WITCH - "Legions Of The Deep" (CD) coming on 9th of November

ARTIST: ARKHAM WITCH
TITLE: "Legions Of The Deep"
GENRE: Heavy/Doom Metal/NWOBHM
RELEASE DATE: November 9th, 2012
LABEL: Metal On Metal Records
CATALOG ID: MOMR12035
BARCODE: 8022167090351
FORMAT: CD in jewel case • 11 tracks (approx. 57 min.) • 12 pages stapled booklet with lyrics, band photos and info • All full-color

ARKHAM WITCH is a name that should be already familiar to the old school heavy metal and doom fans, especially those into THE LAMP OF THOTH, the previous band of the vocalist Simon and drummer Emily. On their sophomore album the Brits serve one ridiculously catchy "hit" after another. Their influences are pretty obvious: DEEP SWITCH, HELL, WITCHFINDER GENERAL, JUDAS PRIEST, PENTAGRAM, SAINT VITUS, MANILLA ROAD, CIRITH UNGOL... but at the same time it's not possible to mistake them for any other band (except for TLoT perhaps), as their personality shines strongly through their music and attitude. It's straightforward doom and NWOBHM laden traditional metal, occult, but with a tinge of humor, with these trademark bard/brigand type vocals of Simon. And if it makes you do weird moves and speak in strange tongues, you are not alone... you've just joined the Legions of the Deep!

  • Featuring two members (vocalist/songwriter and drummer) known from The Lamp of Thoth
  • Guest vocals on the title track by Leo Stivala of Forsaken (Malta)
  • For fans of: The Lamp of Thoth, Deep Switch, Hell, Witchfinder General, Judas Priest, Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Manilla Road, Cirith Ungol, Valhall...
  • Cover art by Jowita Kaminska-Peruzzi (www.jowita-kaminska.com)

TRACK LISTING:
1. David Lund (8:42)
2. At The Mountains Of Madness (7:13)
3. Iron Shadows In The Moon (4:00)
