Lord Vicar/Funeral Circle - Split MCD & MLP out in May

Lord Vicar, traditional Doom Metal cult act from Finland featuring Peter Vicar, formerly of Reverend Bizarre, and Christian Lindersson of Count Raven, joined with the Canadian old school Doomsters Funeral Circle and present exclusive tracks for this split release.

Lord Vicar deliver just what people might expect after their phenomenal debut album and created a massive, almost-14 min epic called "The Fear of Being Crushed", while the newcomers Funeral Circle offer us a grim old school fucker called "The Hexenhammer" and their interpretation of the Witchfinder General classic "Burning a Sinner". I'm sure that all those who like their EP on the Miskatonic Foundation as well as other obscure cult acts such as The Lamp of Thoth, Witchfinder General or Hell will dig the new stuff as well.

A fantastic artwork, done by Peter Vicar's former band member Albert Witchfinder of Reverend Bizarre fame, crowns this release which will be available in strictly limited editions on both CD and vinyl.

ARGUS - Details On New Album Confirmed

Italian heavy metal label Cruz Del Sur Music confirms May 3, 2011 as the official release date for the sophomore album from Pennsylvania-based ARGUS! Entitled Boldly Stride The Doomed, this is the first release from ARGUS via Cruz Del Sur.

ARGUS stormed onto the underground metal scene with their twin guitar-driven, doom-tinged, working class metal sound with a self-recorded demo in early 2007, on John Brenner’s (Revelation/Against the Nature) DIY label, Bland Hand Records. The band was roundly welcomed by the metal community at home as well as abroad and established its foundation amongst friends/fans within the scene. With this initial momentum, the band created a buzz that was only solidified by their punishing live performances. Their self-titled debut album was released on Shadow Kingdom Records in 2009 receiving praise from media outlets worldwide. The band continued to gain notoriety attracting like-minded fans world-wide who celebrate the genre and its core values of: hard work, discipline and integrity.

Featuring the powerful voice of former Penance vocalist Butch Balich, ARGUS prepares to cement themselves within the metal archives with their sophomore effort, Boldly Stride the Doomed!

PREMONITION 13 - 7" wax of Wino's new band released

"Longtime fans of guitarist/vocalist Scott “Wino” Weinrich will recognize his signature tone almost immediately on Switchouse/Crossthreaded, the debut 7” from his new project, Premonition 13 (released via Volcom Entertainment’s vinyl club in a limited edition green-record pressing of 1,000), but there’s something different going on too. Something strange. Spoiler alert: It’s another guitar. Though Premonition 13 remains, as of this release, a power trio with Weinrich adding bass to his guitar and singing duties, he’s joined in this new project by guitarist and longtime friend Jim Karow, who proves no slouch when it comes to keeping up with the blazing leads and huge-footed stomping grooves. The two tracks they present – “Switchouse” and “Crossthreaded,” oddly enough – find Weinrich well in his element songwriting-wise, and though it’s not the first time he’s worked with another guitarist, it is the first time he’s worked with a guitarist doing this. Where the supergroup Shrinebuilder, in which he shares six-string responsibility with Scott Kelly of Neurosis, draws from elements of its various members’ bands, Premonition 13 feels very much in the vein of Weinrich’s trio projects – Spirit Caravan, The Hidden Hand, the Wino band – though perhaps more the former than the latter (...)" theobelisk.net

Seit 1990 stampfen und schweben MIRROR OF DECEPTION aus Baden-Würrtemberg elegant durch die deutsche Doom Metal Szene und gehören damit zu Vertretern eines oft unbeachteten, aber innig verehrten Kultes. Schwere Zeitlupenriffs, zerbrechliche Melodien und eindringlicher Gesang sind ihr Rezept, das vor allem Liebhaber epischer, harter Kost an mittlerweile vier Alben und mehreren EP's schätzen. Nun stellen sie auf einer Tour ihre aktuelle Scheibe "A smouldering fire" vor und der Circle of Tyrants ist stolz, dieses Urgestein nach vielen Versuchen endlich für ein Konzert in Erfurt ergattert zu haben.
