Bands which have played already ten years have experienced quite a lot already. But I bet also this release has a special kind of significance for both groups. At least one reason might be the fact, that these bands are not exactly well known for making plenty of releases. A kind of slowness comes naturally with the style they play, producing sludge and doom takes time. Although these genres bound to be very dark, heavy and sorrowful, at least with this release you don't have to mourn because of the failure.

Self-titled LP from Finish Death/Doom Metal band WARD released

Finland’s downtempo heavyweights WARD have been stirring their unique musical mixture already since 2005, but only after two smaller releases and a reasonable amount of live performances are they ready to bring out their long-awaited debut full-length.

Building from the atmospheric melodies of doom metal, raw sound and morbidness of early crust and the primitive force and heaviness of old-school death metal, the self-titled LP of these Tampere-based long runners consists of four tracks and nearly 36 minutes of unnaturally heavy darkness. One of the tracks, pitch black “SELF MADE HELL” can be found at the moment in the WARD bandcamp, as well as two tracks from their earlier releases.

After almost two years of completely analogue recording, mixing and mastering in the band's bassist's own Black Floyd's Studios, WARD LP was released in December 2013 in collaboration with four Finnish independent labels and is only available on black vinyl with a pressing of 500 pcs. The stunning artwork is courtesy of Finnish renowned artist / graphic designer Ville Angervuori. The complete album and artwork may be downloaded for a more thorough review from the link below.

Having already shared stages with the finest bands in Finland (Fleshpress, Sink, Selfish, Garden of Worm etc.) and from abroad alike (Crude, Switchblade, Aguirre etc.) and now with a full-length release due, WARD is again ready to take their total live sound to even the most obscure stages around. The record release party is to be held in Tampere’s infamous Vastavirta-Club on 7.12. with fellow death & doomsters LURK and CRIPPLER.

0 X í S T rehearsing for their 2nd album, also offering complete digital discography for free download!

Finnish doomy Dark Metal band 0 X í S T is offering their digital discography for free / name you price downloading at 0xíst bandcamp page. This offer will be valid throughout January 2014.

In other news, the band is rehearsing material for their second full-length album. This will be the first 0xíst release to include bassist Sameli Köykkä (ex-Colosseum) & guitarist Juhani Jokisalo (Apocryphal Voice). The album will include approximately 6 tracks of slow and heavy Dark Metal. 0xíst’s debut album “Nil” was released in December 2012 as co-operation project between Ostra Records and Cold Void Emanations. The album was followed by 0xíst’s first European tour in March 2013.

0 X í S T’s next live performance will be their Swedish debut show. It will take place at Rocks Bar in Stockholm on Saturday first of February.

0 X í S T, as for “zero exist”, performs metal that is slow, heavy, menacing and stands truthfully for what it is being described to be - dark metal.

The band was also featured on the Scandinavian Doom Metal compilation of DOOM METAL FRONT magazine with the track "Gazin into the Void" - ENJOY!!! And purchase als albums by 0 X í S T !!!

MISTGUIDE: New album of avant-garde Doom Metal solo project from Finland out now

MISTGUIDE is a finnish solo project, founded in 2008. The first two albums, released 2010 and 2011, are influenced by both Black Metal and Funeral Doom. The song "Misery Dawn" was also part of the 4th Doom Metal Front compilation, which featured bands from whole Scandinavia.

MISTGUIDE's third full-length release "Era" is a concept album taking place in World War I. It is a mixture of Avant-garde, Doom Metal and Ambient, released on the 30th of November 2013.
