R.I.P. Hannu Weckman ( Fall of the Idols)

"We are extremely sad to announce that our drummer Hannu Weckman passed away at the age of 28. We have not only lost a talented musician but a good friend. Even when we stricken with grief and pain we have decided to go on with the band and will finish the third album as our tribute to him. His contributions for that album were immense, not only on drums and percussion but also on writing the music and playing some lead guitar and all acoustic guitar parts as well. We wish to give our condolences to his relatives and loved ones and join them with their grief."

EYEHATEGOD: Retox And Nihilism Over Europe Tour 2011 To Commence Tomorrow!

New Orleans derelicts, EYEHATEGOD — vocalist Mike Williams, guitarists Jimmy Bower and Brian Patton, bassist Gary Mader and drummer Joey LaCaze — will kick off their long-anticipated European summer tour tomorrow! Dubbed the Retox and Nihilism Over Europe Tour 2011, the debauchery will commence at Hellfest in Clisson, France and level 20 additional cities, before coming to a tumultuous close at the Rock Café in Tallinn, Estonia. The trek will include stops at the Kriston Festival in Spain, GSM Fest in Portugal, the Roskilde Festival in Denmark and the Stoned From The Underground Festival in Germany. EYEHATEGOD will be joined by Japanese doom brigade, Church Of Misery.

Funeral "To Mourn Is A Virtue" - Out via Solitude Productions

Solitude Productions proudly presents the legendary Norwegian band`s album «To Mourn Is A Virtue». This release is the missing link between the classic albums «Tragedies» (1995) and «In Fields Of Pestilent Grief» (2002). This album is based on unreleased demo-recordings ,and contains nine previously unreleased tracks recorded between 1996 and 2004,remastered in 2010, almost 15 years after the moment they were initially recorded in the studio. «To Mourn Is A Virtue» could become a surprising opening both for fans of the band and those who are interested in the genre. Funeral, regarded as one of the first bands in the funeral doom metal genre, further evolved to a more doom/ death metal approach, now presents a classic doom metal record. SAINT VITUS start working on new album!!!

In an interview with Hellbound.ca, SAINT VITUS frontman Scott "Wino" Weinrich stated about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's next album, "We're already doing new material. I wrote the lyrics to a song we played live on our last European tour. It went over really well. We're getting together to work on an album in June or July.
