LORD DYING and ASG confirmed for ROADBURN festival 2014

If there's one thing that unites everyone at the Roadburn festival it's riffs. Portland, Oregon hessians Lord Dying have knocked-out some of the tastiest, meatiest, riffs of recent times via their skull-cracking caveman metal debut album Summon The Faithless on Relapse Records, and so it is that the Roadburn festival announced that they will be playing Roadburn 2014 on Thursday, April 10th at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland.

Lord Dying’s debut album Summon The Faithless is a brutalist primitive take on the doomed fist-pounding head-banging mania of High On Fire, suffused with the rusty razor edge of early death metal. Scything, bludgeoning guitars rip and tear through flesh and bone as frontman Erik Olson spits bile like the bastard offspring of Cronos and Matt Pike.

North Carolina's ASG are currently celebrating their highest charting and most critically acclaimed album to date, their breakthrough release Blood Drive, which is their first for Relapse Records and fourth album to date. Blood Drive is a killer sludgy, psychedelic, hard rock and Southern (stoner) rock hybrid that brings to mind bands like Torche, old Queens of the Stone Age or Jane's Addiction with a fierce Southern twang.

ASG write big groovy riffs and super catchy hooks. Frontman Jason Shi's distinctive melodic voice adds a poppy element with some gruffness thrown in for good measure!

ASG will bring their straight up, big, bright sounds to Roadburn Festival 2014 on Thursday, April 10 at Het Patronaat in Tilburg, The Netherlands. ASG has always been a relentless live-act from the get go, and it will be an absolute delight to see the band effortlessly slip from swirling psychedelica to woozy stonerrock to big riffing, almost arena-like heavy rock to swampy Southern rock.

LORD DYING Reveal Debut Album Details

Summon the Faithless Coming July 8th via Relapse Records

LORD DYING come from Portland, Oregon, a place over abundant with purveyors of the heavy riff. A region where the inhabitants are plagued with nerve and joint damage due to lack of sunlight. In a time where everyone is trying to out-sludge or out-doom each other LORD DYING gives something less than a fuck. They are a metal band with members of Black Elk, Portals, Le Force, and Damn Your Eyes, who in their short, one year's time as a band have shared the stage with Down, Unsane, Yob, Valient Thorr, Black Cobra and many others.

The band recently completed work on their debut Summon the Faithless. The album is set for release July 9th via Relapse Records. The album will be available in CD, LP and digital formats. The album is available for pre-order here.

LORD DYING full-length debut coming this summer

Relapse Records announce the signing of Portland, OR riff worshippers LORD DYING.  Formed in 2010, LORD DYING (E. Olson-guitar/vocals, D. Capuano-bass, J. Reid-drums/vocals & C. Evans-guitar) are veterans of the heavy music scene, having played in bands such as Black Elk, Portals, Le Force, and Cremains. The band has so far released a sold out 7” and a sold self-titled tour EP. LORD DYING recorded their forthcoming full-length debut this past September with Sanford Parker (NACHTMYSTIUM, YOB, RWAKE). The album is currently being mixed and mastered and will see its release via Relapse Records this Summer.  

LORD DYING has built up a reputation with their ear-shattering live shows, having recently trekked across the US with label-mates RED FANG and BLACK TUSK in addition to being direct support for BLACK COBRA, WITCH MOUNTAIN and GAZA. Now they will be hitting the road for a string of shows with DOWN and WARBEAST starting on Jan 22 in Seattle, WA.
