Shrinebuilder cancel European tour
"Shrinebuilder would like to inform everyone (regretfully) there are still no flights available for us in the forseeable future to get to Europe. We are already planning a make-up tour for November of this year. Our sincere apologies to all, we unfortunately can't fight mother nature... Thank you for your understanding.
Nachdem die ersten Daten der SHRINEBUILDER-Tour bereits abgesagt werden mussten, wurde gestern Nacht mit diesen Worten die aktuelle SHRINEBUILDER-Tour gecancelt. Die Band sitzt mittlerweile seit Donnerstag letzter Woche am Flughafen in NYC fest und hoffte täglich darauf einen Flug zu bekommen. Nachdem man noch in letzter Minute gehofft hat es rechtzeitig zu schaffen passierte was passierte. Am Freitag wurde, nachdem klar war, das man nicht mehr fliegen konnte, spontan ein Konzert im Brooklyner Club Europa angesetzt welches euphorisch gefeiert wurde von einer Schar Fans, die sich nach nur fünf Stunden Vorlauf eingefunden hatten. Weitere Möglichkeiten, wie die Einladung von Mastodon, spontan eine derer US-Show zu supporten wurde allerding auf Eis gelegt, da die Hoffnung noch fliegen zu können als letztes stirbt. Nun versucht die Band auf dem Rückweg zur Westküste noch einige Shows zu spielen. Die Tour wird voraussichtlich im November nachgeholt."

Worship will record new album this year
"After the move to our new studio facilities in June is complete, one of the first things will be the start of the recordings for the yet untitled new Worship album. Yesterday I alluded a bit to what it will be about, today I will give a few more details:
It will be available on CD and LP. It will not be a Double LP this time, so the length will be limited by what an LP will hold, and the songs need to group to 2 vinyl sides, naturally. A Double LP made sense as it took me 7 years to release the last album. Now, I want to create an album in about 2 years, and invest the time rather into quality than in number of songs.
As song number #1 is going to turn out quite long, I will possibly fit only 3 songs on the album, but it will have a playing time close to the maximum of an LP. Good news for lovers of long epic doom songs (like I am)." (by Daniel Pharos on April 21, 2010)

Doom Shall Rise VII - Artikel (Südwest Presse)
"Göppingen. Am Wochenende zog die siebte Auflage des 'Doom Shall Rise' Festivals wieder hunderte Besucher aus aller Welt in die Chapel im Göppinger Stauferpark.
Bunt gemischt, international und abwechslungsreich war auch das musikalische Programm des weltgrößten Festivals für Doom Metal. Schon die erste Band am Freitag - die deutsch-amerikanische Formation "Seamount" - wurde vom Publikum begeistert aufgenommen. Kein Wunder, schließlich gab es hier besten Doom-Rock mit ausdrucksstarkem Gesang zu hören.
Die Niederländer "The 11th Hour" brillierten mit melancholisch-depressivem Doom-Death-Metal und wurden wohl sehnlich erwartet, immerhin waren die Reaktionen des Publikums die bisher besten. Drei Gitarren erzeugten eine brachiale Klangkulisse. Auch die Schweden "Isole" - die wohl an diesem Tage bewegungsfreudigste Band - sowie die Briten "40 Watt Sun" wurden regelrecht abgefeiert. Einen wesentlich wuchtigeren Schlusspunkt setzten die irischen Doom-Deather "Mourning Beloveth" unter den ersten Abend.
Donnernd ging es am Samstag mit den Leipzigern "Calliophis" weiter, bei ihnen klang allein schon der Bass wie ein V8-Motor und ließ die Chapel erbeben. Anschließend war das Frauen-Quartett "Shever" aus der Schweiz an der Reihe, gefolgt von den Briten "Unsilence", die mit etwas progressiveren Songstrukturen und großartigen Melodien überzeugten. Ein wohl eher muskalisches Testbild boten die Westfalen "Kodiak", die rein instrumental auf einer blau ausgeleuchteten, total vernebelten Bühne vor sich hinmeditierten: Laut, brachial und in einem unglaublich langsamen Tempo glaubte man hier eher einem Soundcheck mit angezogener Handbremse zu lauschen.
Als nächstes waren die Australier "Rituals Of The Oak" an der Reihe. Hier brillierte besonders die Sängerin mit einer sehr leidenschaftlichen Darbietung. "Nomad Son" aus Malta gaben dann wieder mehr Gas: Hier gab es klassischen Doom-Metal mit schnelleren Parts. Allein der Sänger machte dem legendären Ronnie James Dio alle Ehre und der Keyboarder schien sich über die ganze Bühne zu bewegen, ohne auch nur ein einziges Mal die Hand von den Tasten zu nehmen. Etwas ruhiger und elegischer wurde es bei den Deutschen "Doomshine", bevor die Ungarn "Magma Rise" mit modernem Sludge-Sound die Chapel in Grund und Boden groovten.
Im krassen Kontrast hierzu entführten die Amerikaner "Jex Thoth" das Publikum mit ihrer ganz eigenen Mischung aus klassischem Doom-Metal, Iron Butterfly und The Doors auf eine Reise in die 70er. Die Band, allen voran die Sängerin, versank völlig in der Musik und riss die prall gefüllte Chapel von Anfang an mit. Den Abschluss bildeten, da Iron Man aus Amerika aus finanziellen Gründen absagen mussten, die deutschen "Mirror Of Deception". Die Formation um Jochen Fopp, einer der beiden Festivalorganisatoren, stellte einmal mehr ihre großartigen Live-Qualitäten unter Beweis und überzeugte mit ihrer melodischen Kost auf ganzer Linie. Sogar den schwäbischen Kult-Song "Der Student von Ulm" gab es zu hören.
Ein tolles Wochenende mit jeder Menge Spaß, großartiger Musik und einem internationalen Gemeinschaftsgefühl, wie man es nur selten findet - das "Doom Shall Rise" ist und bleibt einzigartig."
