SAINT VITUS: Jubiläums-Europatour startet heute! | Anniversary European Tour kicks off today!

Heute Abend geben SAINT VITUS den Startschuss für ihre intensive Europatour anlässlich ihres 35-jährigen Bandjubiläums ab! Um dieses großartige Ereignis gebührend zu feiern, spielen die Urväter des US-amerikanischen Doom Metal alle Songs von "Born Too Late", dem Lieblingsalbum der Fans, welches im Jahr 1986 erstmals veröffentlicht wurde. Die Show wird mit vielen weiteren Klassikern die richtige Würze verliehen.

SAINT VITUS werden von den britischen Doomern ORANGE GOBLIN begleitet. Der doomige Roadtrip beginnt heute in der wunderschönen Stadt Colmar in Frankreich und wird quer durch Europa rocken, bis er am 15. November sein schweres Finale auf dem Hammer Of Doom-Festival in Würzburg feiert. Die kompletten Tourtermine findet ihr am Ende des Posts.

SAINT VITUS kick off their extensive European tour in celebration of the band’s 35th anniversary today! To honour this grand occasion, the godfathers of American Doom Metal will perform all songs from the fan-favourite "Born Too Late" album (originally released in 1986) as part of their show peppered with a host of classic hits.

SAINT VITUS will be joined by British doomsters ORANGE GOBLIN. This doomed roadtrip starts today in the beautiful Alsacian city of Colmar (FR) at Le Grillen and continues to rock Europe heavily until a final stop at the Hammer of Doom Festival in Würzburg, Germany on November 15th. SAINT VITUS stream unreleased track!!!

Heavy/Doom metal progenitors SAINT VITUS are streaming one of the bonus tracks from their forthcoming reissue of 'C.O.D.' The bonus track, titled "The Chameleon" is streaming now at Pitchfork.

Regarding the unreleased track, guitarist Dave Chandler said, "I sent our U.S. label (at the time ) the tracks “The Chameleon” and “To Breed A Soldier” that I wrote with Christian (Linderson). The label did not like the direction the album was going and that really pissed us off. I scrapped everything I was working on and told Christian that things were not working out, so he left and went back home to Sweden.

The two bonus songs on the reissue weren't actually written for the C.O.D. Both were written after C.O.D. was released, and were intended to be demo tracks for the next SAINT VITUS album. As they were the only other recordings from the era with Christian,  we decided to put them out on the C.O.D. re-issue" 

The re-issues of 'COD' and ‘Die Healing’ will be available on CD, limited-edition double LP, and colored vinyl gatefold LPs. 'Remastered and enhanced with two previously unreleased bonus tracks, ‘C.O.D.’ features COUNT RAVEN’s Christian Linderson on vocals, while ‘Die Healing’ sees original SAINT VITUS singer Scott Reagers return to the mic. All formats can be pre-ordered here and are scheduled to be released this Friday, August 16th across the world (August 20th in North America).

SAINT VITUS recently announced the reissue plans of their two classic albums, ‘C.O.D.’ (originally released 1992) and ‘Die Healing’ (1995). The new, expanded editions of these albums will be released on August 16th (August 20th in North America).

SAINT VITUS embark on European Tour today!

Doom icons SAINT VITUS have announced an extensive European tour. Starting today on March 5th in Köln, Germany, the tour continues throughout this month until ending in Norway at the prestigious Inferno Festival on March 30th.  The US legends will be joined by MOS GENERATOR. A full list of tour dates can be found below. 

The band is touring in support of their latest album 'Lillie: F-65'. This critically acclaimed masterpiece, their first full-length in 17 years, reunites the unmistakable guitar playing of co-founder Dave Chandler with the deeply resonate vocals of hard rock legend Scott “Wino” Weinrich.

'Lillie: F-65'' is available as a limited edition Digipak CD + DVD as well as jewel case CD, Gatefold double vinyl + dropcard in different colours, and a box and t-shirt on the Season of Mist e-shop.

BLOOD OF THE SUN's "Burning on the Wings of Desire" out on November 27th

70's inspired hard rockers, BLOOD OF THE SUN, featuring ST. VITUS drummer Henry Vasquez, will release Burning on the Wings of Desire in North America on November 27th on Listenable Records.

To help with the album, the band hooked up with Mos Generator's Tony Reed, who produced, recorded, co-wrote and handled some guitar and bass duties.

Blood of the Sun was formed in 2002 by Henry Vasquez (Saint Vitus, Archie Bunker) on drums and Dave Gryder (Storm at Sunrise) on keyboards. Blood of the Sun's goal from the beginning has been to carry on the tradition of the classic rock style of the '70's, including highly respected seventies icons Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent and John 'O Daniel and Rusty Burns from Point Blank. In 2004, the band released their self-titled, first release on the independent Brain Ticket label. This initial line up included Las Crucis singer Mark Zamarron, Sub Oslo bassist Miguel Veliz, as well as Archie Bunker guitarists Jay Benfield and Rich Christopher. For their 2007 sophomore release In Blood We Rock, personnel changes included Richard Hurley and Ty Thompkins on guitars and Henry Vasquez on vocals. In 2008, Death Ride was released with Derek St. Holmes from Ted Nugent on vocals as well as Erik Schmidt from REO Speed Dealer and Mike Doty from The House Harkonnen on guitars.

In addition to touring the states, the band toured Europe extensively in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and has subsequently been preparing their newest release "Burning on the Wings of Desire" which includes John O'Daniel and Rusty Burns from Point blank and Tony Reed. (Stone Axe, Mos Generator).
